The programme used sperm from the French showjumping stallion Jaguar Mail and a pair of surrogate mares, who foaled at an English stud farm while both their parents were competing at the Olympic Games. Headley Britannia, the only mare to win the Badminton, Burghley and Kentucky three-day events, was euthanised on 01 April 2014. She was inducted into the British Horse Society Hall of Fame in 2015.
