Other information |
STABLES He runs Fredericks Equestrian International in Ocala, FL, United States of America, where he trains and sells horses and coaches riders. He also sells temporary stabling products in the United States of America through his business Fredericks Equestrian International Stabling. (Facebook page, 28 Jan 2023; LinkedIn profile, 01 Jan 2023; feistabling.com, 01 Jan 2020; fredericksequestrian.com, 17 Jan 2019)
COACHING He acted as chef d'equipe of the Hong Kong, China eventing team at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, Republic of Korea. In 2013 he was appointed technical advisor of Canada's eventing team and coached them at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. His term with the Canadian team came to an end in November 2016. (australian-rider.com, 16 Nov 2016; Facebook page, 15 Oct 2016; eventingconnect.today, 25 Jul 2016; fredericksequestrian.com, 18 Apr 2016)
OTHER ACTIVITIES Between 2008 and 2014 he served as rider representative of the International Equestrian Federation [FEI] Eventing Committee. He also helped design the eventing course at the Ocala Jockey Club in Florida, United States of America. "My work as a course designer is really benefitting from the fact that I am still riding [speaking in 2020]. My whole course design has never come from the technical side of it. One of the things about starting this sport in Australia, then moving to Europe, and then spending so much time in the UK, and now to America - I've got a good global view of the sport. It has influenced me as a designer." (Galway Downs Facebook page, 04 Nov 2022; chronofhorse.com, 02 Sep 2020; mynews13.com, 11 Nov 2019; fredericksequestrian.com, 15 Nov 2016) |
Injuries |
He strained a tendon in his left shoulder at the 2006 Burghley Championships in England. (olympics.com.au, 01 Aug 2008)
He broke his left leg at the 1992 Trans-Tasman competition, which resulted in three months on the sidelines. (Athlete, 10 Aug 2006) |
Sport Specific Information |

He initially took up riding because of his love for horses, but as he got older he realised the sport was a good opportunity to meet girls. Equestrian also allowed him to travel the world. |
