CATCHING THE BUG He lost interest in equestrian in his mid-teens, but at age 16 his enthusiasm for the sport returned. "It was actually at a particular moment, equestrian eventing at the 1990 World Equestrian Games [WEG] in Stockholm. I was age 16 and in the audience. Seeing the almost supernatural cooperation between the world's best horses and riders up close was amazing. The atmosphere was tremendous. The challenge felt like it was made for me. I knew immediately that this was what I would bet on." (arla.se, 10 May 2016) |
