Sport Specific Information |
Why this sport? |
She began eventing because she had done some dressage and jumping. She also enjoyed the adrenaline rush she got from the sport. |
When and where did you begin this sport? |
She took up the sport at age 14 at Ojai Valley School in California, United States of America, which offered an equestrian programme that allowed students to ride after school instead of doing more traditional extra-curricular activities. Her mother Ellen believes this is where Coudray's passion and determination to succeed came from. |

STABLES She is based at Day House Farm in Swindon, England. (useventing.com, 19 Jun 2021)
MOVE TO ENGLAND In 2011 she went to England to prepare for a three-star event at Blenheim Palace, but elected to stay permanently and set up her own eventing business. "The decision to stay was made partly out of stubbornness and partly from knowing that if I was going to make a bid for the Olympics, then I needed to stay in Europe. Similarly, after the Games [in 2012], I asked myself what I had to rush home to, and the answer was nothing. I was only 24 and would have to start from scratch building a business, so I thought I might as well do it here. As long as I have good horses and big competition goals, then this is where I should be." (theamerican.co.uk, 15 Jan 2019; eventingnation.com, 12 Dec 2014) |
